After a rich autumn of great events, on Monday January 23, the ERF#StignaniMusica events will resume with meetings, conferences and concerts until March 28, 2017.

 

The critic Sandro Cappelletto will introduce the Mozart string quartets (23/01 time 21), the conference will take place in the foyer of the Stignani Theatre.

On January 27, 2017 (time 21), ERF welcomes violinist Davide Alogna,  described by. Giuliano Carmignola at Accademia Chigiana, as “a great talent” and awarded him of a “Degree with honours ”for his Mozart interpretation and Bruno Canino, pianist who boasts in his international career collaboration with contemporary composers.

As part of the conferences in the foyer of the Stignani Theatre, on February 6 (at 21) the critic and journalist Stefano Valanzuolo will talk about the “border music” and will guide us in a careful analysis of the changes taking place in the perception of music and in the music market mainly due to the digital revolution and the decline of the traditional media, without neglecting the changes in the music production and creativity.

On St. Valentine’s day February 14 (time 21), the appointment is for all music lovers: Richard Galliano, accordion and bandoneon virtuoso, will perform with the Camerata Ducale Orchestra conducted by Guido Rimonda, who will play the 1721 Jean Marie Leclair Stradivarius (Le Noir) defined by G. B. Somis as “The voice of an angel”.
Galliano, French artist of international renown, will enchant the audience with his brilliant interpretive power as well as his exceptional compositional skill. The repertoire will range from Bach to the fiery notes of the tango by Gardel, to “Opale” concert for accordion and string orchestra by the same Galliano.

The concert on the following week, on February 21 (time 21) is dedicated to the prince of classical music: his “majesty” the violin. Stefan Milenkovich is a unique artist with an extraordinary productive longevity, professionalism and creativity. ERF’s old friends at the Ebe Stignani Theatre: the Moscow Soloists led by the “giant” Yuri Bashmet.
Described by The Times as “without doubt, one of the world’s greatest living musicians”, Yuri Bashmet has given the viola a new prominence in musical life. Through his virtuosity, strength of personality and high intelligence, he has inspired many composers to write for him, and has enjoyed strong personal and professional relationships with Alfred Schnittke and Sofia Gubaidulina in particular. The evening’s programme will include a world premiere by Michael Nyman, another ERF’s friend as well as pieces by Brahms, Čajkovskij, Mahler and Benda.

A very welcome return on March 21 (time 21): Quirino Principe will surprise us with his quick expositions on chamber music. The conference will take place in the foyer of the Stignani Theatre.

Est wind is blowing for the closing event of the ERF first concert season in the Stignani Theatre in Imola. On March 28 (time 21) is the turn of the duo composed by the young Armenian violinist Anush Nikoghosyan and Belarus Rostislav Krimer, eminent pianist as well as founder and artistic director of the Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival, dedicated to the violist of the Moscow Soloists.
