On Monday 1st April (at 21.00) at the Stignani Theatre in Imola the Trio Metamorphosi, composed by Mauro Loguercio on the violin, Francesco Pepicelli on the cello and Angelo Pepicelli on the piano, will bring three Trios by Ludwig van Beethoven to the stage.
The Trio in B flat major op. 11 will open the concert, the piece although composed initially for piano, clarinet and cello, became famous using the most classical formation: piano, cello and violin.
The second trio is a precious rarity. Written by Beethoven when he was very young, it was published when the composer, having economic problems, sold a collection of variations for violin, cello and piano never performed before; while the third trio was defined by Johann Friedrich Reichardt, chapel master of Frederick II in Potsdam, “especially in the Cantabile movement, the most gracious and lovable one I heard“. To fill the soul with each listening.
