Monday, July 12 (9.30) at the Rocca Sforzesca in Imola, another important piano appointment with the return to Emilia Romagna Festival of the great German pianist Sebastian Knauer, for a concert inspired by the disc released in May 2021 The Mozart / Nyman Concert.

A reference performer of Michael Nyman and one of the very few pianists in the world authorized by the great English composer to perform his music, Knauer will bring to the Rocca Sforzesca of Imola the first Italian performance, “6 Piano Pieces for Sebastian Knauer”, six pieces for piano related to the piano sonatas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed by Michael Nyman on commission of the great German pianist.

Classical, symphonic, chamber, jazz: nothing that faces the musical horizon satisfies the talent of Sebastian Knauer, who today has more than a quarter of a century of concert career. From his debut at 14 years at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg – his hometown -, over the course of his career he has performed in more than 50 countries, in four continents and in prestigious contexts.

An artist with a particular sensitivity to chamber music, since the 2000s he has realized a somewhat particular project, with a series of programs called “Word meets Music”, dedicating each program to a great name in the history of music.
