Sunday, June 27, 2021 (9.30 pm), at the Arena of Castel San Pietro Terme, the duo composed by Giampaolo Bandini on guitar and Cesare Chiacchiaretta bandoneon put in music a Grand Tango to celebrate the 100 years since the birth of Astor Piazzolla.
The timeless and boundless music of Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), Italian by birth, Argentinian by birth, Pan-american by adoption, is the great protagonist of the evening that is declined through the most beautiful and famous compositions of the so-called «Nuevo Tango».
In the first centenary of the birth, Emilia Romagna Festival celebrates, therefore, Astor Piazzolla with a special concert-tribute of the duo Bandini-Chiacchiaretta, guitar and bandonen, an ensemble formed in 2002 with the precise intention of proposing Argentine music through the charm and magic of its most representative instruments. Invited by the most important festivals and theatres in the world, the duo has toured in more than 50 countries.
The duo had the privilege of playing the Double Concerto “Hommage a Liegi” by Astor Piazzolla under the direction of Leo Brouwer at the Paganini Auditorium in Parma and for the Unione Musicale di Turin with the famous chamber orchestra “I Virtuosi di Mosca” conducted by Pavel Berman.
