Ebe Stignani was one of the best Italian singers. Mezzo, with a beautiful timbre, an excellent technique and an incredible vocal range, in her career she also performed roles written for contralto and soprano. She was born in Romagna, where she decided to come back just before her death, moving to Imola, and here the Theatre was dedicated to her figure.

From 2018 the International Voice Masterclass Ebe Stignani – an international project whose goal is to support young talents who study opera singing, has started at the Ebe Stignani Theatre. The participants in the first edition (June 2018) were 10 young singers from all over the world, who had the opportunity to study the lyrical repertoire with internationally renowned teachers.

An international jury led by Elvio Giudici, composed by directors, managers and other professionals of the Opera world, awarded the best students in the final concert-competition. The real news of the event is that the public has also expressed its opinion on the singers, as in a real talent lyric show.
