In the Villa La Babina the 19th edition of the festival ends on Saturday 7 September (9.00 pm) with an opera gala. On stage two international stars of Belcanto: the soprano Cinzia Forte and the baritone Giovanni Meoni, accompanied on the piano by Marco Scolastra.

The concert opens with some pieces by Francesco Paolo Tosti, the famous late 19th-century composer from Abruzzo. Then Verdi with pieces from La Traviata, Nabucco and Il Trovatore. The pieces include piano interludes such as Ignacy Paderewski’s Humoresques, and Rossini’s piece, Assez de memento: dansons, the Album pour les enfants dégourdis and, finally, the waltz transcribed for piano by the operetta Venus in Silk by German Robert Stolz. From the Merry Widow we will listen to the dance and romance of the fairy Vilja, the gentle nymph, sung by Hanna, ideally completed by “Tace the lip” sung by Count Danilo.

Cinzia Forte is an internationally recognized and acclaimed interpreter of the opera repertoire. Agility Soprano, particularly appreciated for her performances of Violetta in La Traviata, has recently added new roles to her repertoire – which today has about 90 debuted roles – such as Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Desdemona in Othello and Anne Boleyn.

Giovanni Meoni is an acclaimed baritone of the most important opera stages, refined interpreter of the Italian Opera tradition, has recently celebrated his 25 years of artistic career. Giovanni Meoni, interpreter of the Bellinian and Donizetti repertoire, then approached the Verdi repertoire, where he found his natural location and where he reaches the maximum expression.

Marco Scolastra, internationally renowned pianist and artistic director of the Amici della Musica of Foligno, during his career he has performed with the best orchestras and big names of music, in the major Italian festivals and theatres all over the world including in Japan, in the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Great Britain and Germany.
