The Lithuanian cellist David Geringas, accompanied by pianist Pavel Kaspar, will be the protagonist of the concert on February 6 (9 pm) at the Ebe Stignani Theatre in Imola.

David Geringas is among the most esteemed cellists in the world, he is able to range, with the usual intellectual rigor accompanied by a rare stylistic versatility, from a repertoire of the early Baroque to contemporary music.

On the program are three historical Czech composers: Josef Suk with Ballade und Serenade op. 3, Antonín Dvořák with Rondò in G minor for cello and piano and Leoš Janàček with Pohádka (Fairy Tale), a fabulous and rhapsodic composition for cello and piano. Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven complete the repertoire respectively with Suite no. 3 in C major for solo cello and Sonata in A major op 69.
