On October 17 at 9 pm at the theatre Ebe Stignani, the great soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci will perform arias chosen by the operas of Corelli, Colonna, Biber, Monteverdi and Lully. The soprano will be accompanied by the baroque orchestra of the Accademia degli Astrusi, conducted by Federico Ferri: a harmonious group of talents.
Anna Caterina Antonacci is a versatile artist with an enormous scenic personality, able to range from Italian operas to heroines of the French tragedy. She is of Emilian origin, but she can be also considered as a Parisian, where she is known and loved so much that she has been awarded the Légion d’honneur, the highest honour of the French Republic.
She studied in Bologna and she started her career at the Teatro Comunale. She won a lot of prestigious prizes such as the International contest of Voci Verdiane in Parma in 1988, the Maria Callas contest and the Pavarotti contest. She started performing Rossini’s operas such as Semiramide, Mosè in Egypt and Ermione. Than she continued with Donizetti and Mozart, to the Armide with which she opened the season 1996-97 at the La Scala theatre conducted by the Maestro Riccardo Muti.
At the Ebe Stignani theatre she will be accompained by the baroque orchestra Accademia degli Astrusi conducted by Federico Ferri. As an international orchestra, they participate to festivals all over the world, and in the same time they perform in the most prestigious theatres and events: Konzerthaus in Berlin, l’Auditorio Nacional of Madrid, l’Auditorio Principe Felipe of Oviedo, Monteverdi of Cremona, Associazione Mariani, Unione Musicale of Torino and Concerti del Quirinale.
