It will be the famous violinist Uto Ughi who inaugurates the seventh concert season “ERF&TeatroMasiniMusica” at the Masini Theatre in Faenza on 12 October at 21.00. Accompanied on piano by Andrea Bachetti, maestro Uto Ughi will perform in “Note d’Europa”, a concert taken from his latest album released for Sony Classical.

Uto Ughi, heir to the tradition that saw the birth and flourishing in Italy of the first great violin schools, is considered one of the greatest alive violinists. After years of absence from the territory, he returns to the Masini Theatre to present his latest album, “Note d’Europa”, a collection of the best violin repertoire of the Old Continent. The name of the collection derives from the seven nations involved, each represented by an emblematic piece of a great composer. Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Germany are the 7 European nations through which Maestro Ughi homaged Europe, with pieces among others of Granados, Saint, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach and Chopin.

Uto Ughi will bring with him the two beautiful violins that accompany him everywhere. One is in fact a Guarneri del Gesù of 1744, a marvelous dark voice piece, and the other is the legendary “Kreutzer”, a 1701 Stradivarius belonging to the violinist to whom Beethoven dedicated the famous sonata.

Andrea Bacchetti, another enfant prodige of classical music, will accompain him on piano. Bacchetti is an international pianist appreciated all over the world thanks to the frequent concerts and publications; he started his career under the auspices of Karajan and Horszowski and made his debut at the Verdi Hall in Milan with the Solisti Veneti at the age of eleven.

Part of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Telethon Foundation for the treatment of rare genetic diseases.
